F-16 Engine Technician
**Title:** F-16 Engine Technician **Location:** Iraq-Balad **Job Number:** 16553 ****PENDING CONTRACT AWARD**** **Summary** The F-16 Engine Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of F-16 aircraft engines, with a strong focus on ensuring the engine’s optimal performance, reliability, and safety. This role requires in-depth knowledge of turbine engines, especially Pratt & Whitney or General Electric engines commonly used in F-16 aircraft. Working in close collaboration with other maintenance team members, the technician performs both routine and complex tasks, diagnosing issues and implementing repairs that meet strict military and safety standards. Attention to detail, adherence to technical manuals, and commitment to quality assurance are critical to success in this role. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** + Conduct routine and non-routine inspections of F-16 aircraft engines, identifying issues or areas requiring attention. + Perform scheduled maintenance, including troubleshooting, removing, and installing engine components. + Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to assess engine conditions and analyze engine performance. + Repair and replace worn or damaged components, such as turbine blades, bearings, and seals, ensuring compliance with technical specifications. + Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection and maintenance logs, and report findings to ensure accurate documentation. + Adhere to all safety protocols and technical manuals during maintenance procedures to ensure personnel safety and equipment functionality. + Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to discuss solutions for complex mechanical or technical issues. + Stay up-to-date on F-16 engine technologies, tools, and best practices by participating in ongoing training and professional development. + Support pre- and post-flight engine checks, ensuring engine readiness and addressing last-minute maintenance needs. + All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: **Qualifications** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. + Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance. + In order to obtain a secret clearance, qualified candidates must have US Citizenship. + Ability to pass physical screening requirements **Education and/or Experience** + High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s or technical degree in aircraft maintenance or a related field is preferred. + Minimum of 3 years of experience working with military turbine engines, ideally on F-16 engines. + Extensive hands-on experience with Pratt & Whitney or General Electric engines for the F-16 aircraft. + Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, maintenance software, and technical manuals for turbine engines. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. + Strong understanding of safety standards and procedures for working with military aircraft. + Certification through a relevant military or civilian aviation authority (e.g., FAA, A&P) is highly desirable. + USAFE 7 – Level skill **Work Conditions** Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed on the flight line, limited hangar or aviation field environment. **Physical Requirements** + Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including up and down stairs. + Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. + Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. **Compensation and Benefits:** + Competitive compensation package. + 90/30 Rotation + Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage. + 401(k) retirement plan with company match. + Professional development and career advancement opportunities \#LI-PI1 #LI-ONSITE AAR is an equal opportunity employer.
