F-16 Flight Test Quality Assurance Inspector - 2nd Shift

Description:This position is part of the Flight Test Quality F-16 Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program at Edwards AFB, CA. Will be responsible for aircraft support / test equipment inspections. Experienced in component removal/replacement, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs), and aircraft modification execution. Technical requirements also include assist/verify fault isolation, troubleshooting, and repair of system failures detected during operational checks associated with modifications and restoration of aircraft to flying condition subsequent to accomplishment of modifications and maintenance. Interprets and uses various test equipment and works from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals. Must be willing to train and assist in multiple disciplines. Selected candidate will have experience with understanding technical requirements on fighter type aircraft. Candidate must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, structure repair manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes - Identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown on engineering documentation and technical orders.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements, work overhead, grasp, handle, feel, and reach.
- Frequent need to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist, with or without fall protection devices.
Security Clearance:
- Interim Security Clearance required to start.
- Secret Security Clearance required to continue in the role
Basic Qualifications:
• Three to five years of experience specifically in fighter aircraft maintenance and Quality Control. This experience should include practical involvement in maintaining fighter aircraft and ensuring that all maintenance activities meet required standards.
• Experience in conducting audits, including both in-progress and post-maintenance inspections.
• Experience in conducting on and off aircraft inspections.
• Experience in reading and understanding blueprints/drawings. This involves the capability to interpret technical schematics and diagrams related to aircraft maintenance and repair.
Desired Skills:

• Extensive background in flight testing, ideally with hands-on experience.
• Familiarity with flight test instrumentation and procedures.
• Previous experience working directly on fighter aircraft, particularly in a flight line capacity.
• A 5 or 7 Skill level USAF AFSC, Navy NEC, or Marine MOS rating.
• Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) FAA certificate or equivalent
• Proficiency in working with aircraft systems, support and test equipment.
• Experience with aircraft modifications is a plus.
• Knowledge of Power Plant systems.
• Expertise in Flight controls and Environmental Systems.
• Experience with Phase inspections.
• Proficient in Maintenance Information Systems including:
- Electronic Maintenance Instructions.
- Aircraft Forms Documentation.
- Supply Chain Management.
• Experience in Tool Control, FOD (Foreign Object Damage), Supply Chain, HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials), Training, Quality, and Security programs.
• Experience with preflight, postflight, and thru-flight inspections.

The base range for this position in California is $31.76 -$50.48.
