SUMMARY:
Works closely with other mechanics and maintenance personnel on aircraft structural modifications, upgrades, and repairs. Locates cracks, breaks, holes, and dents in aircraft sheet metal structures and determines appropriate repairs from technical data to restore components to original strength. Identifies damaged or weakened structures, including skins, stringers, bulkheads, and ribs and develops appropriate repair plan to restore component airworthiness. Reads and interprets blueprints and determines dimensions, angles, and contours in performance of structural repair.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports on work order status to the Lead Mechanic.Ensures all work is done according to specification, regulation, and company policy.Ensures that all tools and associated equipment are 100% accounted for.Responds to work orders in a timely manner with emphasis on operations support.Able to communicate effectively and work well as a member of a teamAssists with other duties as required to support the customer and mission.Conducts oneself professionally through appearance and conduct.All other duties as assigned.CORE COMPETENCIES:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School DiplomaAP License desired or proof of specialized aircraft structural repair course completions.Must have experience with structures / sheet metal or composite repairs, alterations, installations, fabrication, and modificationsMinimum of 5 years aircraft structural repair experience on fighter aircraft; F-16 structural repair experience preferred (other aircraft may be considered).1-year full time field service in the last 3 years.Experience in reading, comprehending, and interpreting technical documents, including manuals, technical data, and blueprints.Knowledge of the assigned airframe, technical manuals, and publications.Working knowledge of assigned aircraft forms and records and standard operating procedures.Ability to communicate fluently in the English languageBasic knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds to waist level and 30 pounds to shoulder height.Must be able to lift and carry parts, tooling, and other awkward items sometimes weighing up to 50 lbs, including walking up and down stairs, aircraft maintenance stands, and platformsRequires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workdayMust be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.If a Contractor Field Team (CFT) is required, may be required to perform duties at remote and austere locations.#LI-PI1
