The Environmental Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and continually improving Micron’s environmental programs and procedures to maintain compliance with environmental regulations and permits. This individual is responsible to supervise changes to the site's environmental management system and applicable regulatory requirements, implement changes as the need arises, benchmarking industry practices, conducting detailed tasks, and analyzing processes & assessing risk.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Ensure Micron’s Environmental Programs and Procedures are effective, efficient, and conform to the management system and regulatory requirements

Assist in achieving site's sustainability goals by participating in committees and providing feedback to plan, implement, and supervise projects

Be effective at presenting (both written and verbal) environmental matters to Micron leadership and local, state, and federal agencies

Meet requirements to conduct accurate environmental calculations and submit vital reports to regulatory agencies

Conduct applicability determinations on environmental regulations

Make objective decisions supported by verifiable facts

Complete internal auditor training and assist in EHS management system internal audits

Coordinate, lead and conduct environmental walkthroughs, inspections, and audits to ensure operations align with procedures and regulatory requirements

Perform incident and event follow-up and investigation, resolve root cause(s), implement containment action, establish corrective action & preventative action, and verify efficiency

Collect, evaluate, and communicate environmental-related metrics and performance measurements

Identify, develop, and provide environmental training in accordance with regulations and company & department objectives

Provide customer support and technical expertise for various environmental issues and environmental regulations

Develop and implement functional, cost-efficient solutions for environmental issues

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree (chemical, environmental/civil, or mechanical engineering preferred) from an accredited college or university

Required Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree will be considered

Experience working at an industrial manufacturing facility

Preferred Experience:

Previously program owner of air programs (Title V, RMP, Air Permitting, etc.) and water programs (Industrial Wastewater, Stormwater, etc.)

Experience working at a semiconductor fabrication facility
