Job Summary:
Serves as a working leader responsible for leading a minimum of three 3 or more employees in grade NA-5 performing tailoring duties.

Duties and Responsibilities: As working leader is responsible for passing on to Fabric Workers NA-5 instructions received from supervisor and setting the pace for the accomplishment of various tailoring duties. Ensures work schedules are established and maintained assigns work to other Fabric Workers maintains employee time-cards recommends approval of leave furnishes input for Work Performance Reviews and handles routine customer complaints.

Makes alternations and repairs to military uniform garments such as pinning and trimming lengthening and shortening sleeves taking and letting out waist of jackets replacing zippers lowering collars replacing pockets shortening and lengthening pants tapering shirts and sewing on rates and stripes etc. Sews for dependents making alternations to shirts to shirts dresses and skirts slacks etc.Receives written special orders from patrons requiring the affixing of medals ribbons badges devices rating etc. Patrons selects appropriate item from a very large assortment of such insignia for military personnel. Measures the correct placement of items to be affixed. Measures marks trims bastes and presses upon completion. Mounts medals and sews items on uniform as appropriate.Operates a sewing machine and maintains machine and working area in a clean and orderly manner. Assists with monthly inventory requisitions and maintains adequate supply of stock at all times.Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor. Assignments are performed based on written and oral instructions. Incumbent carries out tailoring assignments independently and in accordance with own ability and skill in performing tailoring duties following established procedures. Refers unusual tailoring problems to supervisor for assistance. Review is made in terms of timeliness efficiency of operations and patron satisfaction.

Performs other related duties as assigned

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN, IF NOT, MUST HAVE LIVED IN THE U.S. FOR THREE YEARS.
