Work Performed:
Inspects fabricated parts, assemblies, units, extrusions, etc. of various kinds of materials such as metals, metal alloys, and wood for proper size, dimensions, standards, specifications, and workmanship. Uses precision measuring instruments, jigs, fixtures, gages, templates, etc., to obtain proper specifications. Works from complex blueprints, designs, diagrams, engineering orders, etc., and performs complex inspection layouts and setups as required. Approves acceptable work, or rejects work which fails to meet proper standards and recommends corrective action to prevent recurrence. Rechecks work when corrective measures have been completed. Responsible for assigning work to a group (up to 10 persons) of lower grade Inspectors, instructing them in methods and procedures, and for checking their work for accuracy and completeness.
Performs all phases of welding inspection on all types of welded parts, makes tests of welds as required and makes reports and keeps records.
Tools Equipment Used:
Inspector’s hand and marking tools, machinist’s hand tools. Precision measuring instruments, special testing and alignment devices and equipment and special precision gages, templates, etc., and material testing equipment.

Experience Other Requirements:
Thirty-six (36) months of inspection experience on similar work or equivalent related experience, preferably in aircraft industry.
