Fabrication Manager opportunity at Triad Fabricators

 

Triad Fabricators, based in Evansville, Indiana, was formed by consolidating three legacy fabrication shops; Traylor Bros. (founded in 1946), Sterling Industrial (founded in 1982), and Traylor Industrial (founded in 1984). 
 
Our focus is fabrication, which is what we do best, but as part of the Traylor Construction Group, we have the resources to see any project through from concept to completion. With both domestic and international experience, Triad has proven ability on a global scale. 

 

Position Summary:

The Fabrication Shop Manager oversees daily operations, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and safety compliance. This role involves leading a team of skilled workers, managing schedules, and maintaining equipment. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills and extensive fabrication experience.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities               

                    

Manage and lead a team of fabricators and welders Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and safety protocols. Foster a positive work environment and encourage professional development among team members. Plan, schedule, and oversee the production process to meet project deadlines and customer specifications. Monitor workflow and adjust schedules as necessary to maintain efficiency and productivity. Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and finished products. Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed. Manage inventory of materials and supplies, ordering as necessary to avoid production delays. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in fabrication technology. Encourage team involvement in problem-solving and innovation.

 

 

Skills and Abilities

 

Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, machinery operation, and shop floor management. Hands-on experience with metal fabrication techniques is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to identify issues, implement solutions, and make decisions under pressure. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to communicate with diverse teams, management, and external stakeholders. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines. Commitment to promoting and enforcing a culture of safety in the workplace. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.

 

Education/Experience     

High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Proven leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve production goals and maintain high standards of quality.

 

Physical Demands

Travel will be required to attend training and meetings. Ability to sit or stand for entire shift Occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb. Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds. Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly.
