Your Impact

The Fabrication Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the fabrication processes for various components and systems. This role involves working closely with design engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure that fabricated parts meet quality standards, performance specifications, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing processes, materials science, and engineering principles.

 

Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your proficiencies: 

Develop and optimize fabrication processes for new and existing products. Understand and update engineering drawings and specifications for fabrication, with the engineering change process Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of designs. Identify and lead continuous improvement efforts to include execution of FBS tools through kaizen events.  Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations. Lead implementation of OEE Manage fabrication projects from concept through production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, quality control, and production, to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations. Develop and implement inspection procedures and standards for fabricated parts. Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during the fabrication process. Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication-related issues and challenges. Ensure that fabrication processes comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to protect personnel and equipment. Maintain accurate records of fabrication processes, changes, and improvements. Prepare and present reports on fabrication performance, project status, and process improvements.

 

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:   

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Additional work experience (within machinery) in lieu of a degree may be considered.  Machine Trades Certificate 5-7 years of experience in fabrication engineering or a related field. Experience with CAD/CAM and/or PartMaker is required CNC programming and fabrication tools is required. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering principles. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong project management and organizational abilities. Interpersonal, communication, computer and sophisticated problem resolution skills required. Demonstrated leadership experience required

 

Working Conditions:

Regularly exerting up to 30 lbs of force and occasionally up to 50 lbs.  Bending body downward and forward at the waist Ability to work in an industrial environment, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Standing for sustained periods of time.  Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks
