Advanced Fitter $45/hr & $120 per day in per diem

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Fitter with four + years of commercial or naval experience as a first-class Fitter or Fabricator. The ideal candidate will have expertise in single pass tack welding, burning, heating, and the ability to comprehend complex structural assembly drawings and blueprints.

ResponsibilitiesPerform single pass tack welding.Utilize oxygen/propane burning and heating torches.Comprehend and interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches, including weld symbols, material types, and reference lines.Measure and comprehend fractional dimensions using a ruler.Use vibratory tools, including grinders and needle guns.Lay off piece parts for fabrication and assembly.Assemble structural piece parts in accordance with quality specifications.Work in physically demanding environments such as shipbuilding and steel fabrication.Familiarize with OSHA regulations related to the shipbuilding industry.

This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
