Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Romulus GPS on a full-time basis.
The Role:
The Facilities Area Manager (FAM) will manage all of facilities maintenance, housekeeping, utilities and environmental needs. The FAM will be engaged in evaluating projects, planning and timing, operations, maintenance and repair of plant equipment. This role has responsibility over the entire facility, where work involves a considerable amount of creativity and perception and a high level of discernment in making decisions. This role will primarily be on dayshift however flexibility is required to work alternative and extended hours as needed.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
Strategic planning with executive staff/division for headcount forecast and utilization
Manage Facilities personnel/services –training, development, and evaluation
Member of negotiating committee regarding represented labor where required
Interface with local business and government
Administer budgets and project funding
Business plan preparation and coordination of FACILITIES objectives with plant leadership
Update/monitor performance measurements
Strategic space planning and resource management
Observe facility projects to insure adherence to customer requirements and corporate standards
Assign specific tasks (functional elements) to the responsible team member
Assist Facilities team with resolution of supplier problems
Compile data gathered by FACILITIES team and report to management
Administer GM Corporate Process Risk Management (PRM) policies
Member of ERCT and support crises preparedness activities
Assure the collection and analysis of data including Help Desk reports, customer satisfaction survey, monthly report on expenses (ROE), financial data, square footage occupied and available, density ratios, FM Scorecard, Human Resources and Industrial Engineering (where applicable)
Manage PDPM - small construction blanket
Plant facility related production interruption notification - escalation
Ensure the implementation of Maximo Strategies into related Plant Operations - Floor activities
Manage budgets and meet cost objectives
Provide input to the establishment of department budget and efficiency goals and utilizes analytical tools to improve throughput and system efficiency
Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in engineering/management degree or equivalent experience
8 years of experience in facility operation/management
Ability to track, develop, and interpret metrics
Ability to work off-shift and over time as needed
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
8+ years of experience in facility operation/management
Prior experience as a Workplace Safety Systems champion
Experience with Safety Contractor Management
Familiarity with the ARCHIBUS system
Previous experience managing Facilities NPP projects
Experience with site utilities including (power, wastewater, HVAC etc.)
