The Senior Category Manager leads strategic sourcing initiatives for indirect spend categories, aiming to achieve both immediate and long-term cost reductions, while minimizing business and legal risks associated with supplier agreements. This role also focuses on driving continuous improvements in the total cost of ownership for procured services, ensuring sustained value for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies, including creating and managing requests for proposals (RFPs) and vendor solicitations.Lead contract negotiations, draft contract language, and collaborate with legal and internal stakeholders to ensure contract compliance.Manage supplier relationships, focusing on performance optimization and long-term value creation.Maintain accurate records and documentation related to sourcing activities in established systems and repositories.Provide expertise within specific spend categories such as Travel, Technology, Professional Services, or Leasing, while offering broad support across other business functions as needed.Promote risk mitigation strategies to protect the organization from third-party supplier-related risks, while fostering strong partnerships with internal stakeholders.Core Duties:
Define and manage the strategic sourcing process, from supplier identification to contract execution and post-contract vendor management.Build and maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned spend categories or business functions to support informed decision-making.Drive continuous productivity improvements and identify cost-saving opportunities within procurement processes.Oversee the requisition, purchase order, and fulfillment lifecycle, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Act as a trusted advisor to internal clients, providing guidance on procurement best practices, resolving vendor-related issues, and supporting cross-functional collaboration.Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.For roles related to real estate, the Category Manager will be responsible for holding the organization's corporate real estate license and ensuring compliance with leasing policies and real estate regulations.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent procurement/business experience.Proven track record of success in procurement, with several years of experience in strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier negotiations.Relevant certifications such as C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), or similar procurement qualifications are preferred.Key Competencies:
