The Facility Custodian performs routine general housekeeping, cleaning, and maintenance activities to ensure that the site remains clean, organized, and in orderly condition.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for performing general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies. Effectively performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies. Regularly empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal. Responsible for reporting needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking supply levels. Accountable for ensuring all building perimeter doors are secure at the start of shift. Responsible for ensuring proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Responsible for assisting with snow removal activities and minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar activities. Accountable for ensuring production clean room areas are kept clean and floors waxed to reduce particulate contamination.Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required Two (2) years’ experience in custodial work within a manufacturing environment preferred Experience in operating custodial machinery and equipment, including floor care and chemical mixtures preferred Experience with cleaning production and clean rooms preferredSkills & Other Requirements
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others to create positive working relationships Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously Must have a high degree of self-motivation and initiative. Ability to accommodate flexible schedule.Working Conditions
Various interior and exterior, including plant floor, office areas, grounds Exposure to noise, dust, fumes Exposure to hazardous chemicals used on-sitePhysical Requirements
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull regularly Ability to sit or walk for extended periods Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the site including climbing ladders, bending, squatting, and crawling in tight spaces Use of protective equipment as neededSafety Requirements
