Facilities Custodian

Summary:

The custodian staff will be responsible for the following duties on a daily and sometimes weekly basis.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Main Entrances - Maintenance care on a daily basis

Executive Offices/General Offices - Maintenance care on a daily basis. Clean and arrange all chairs and furniture/ vacuum all upholstered furniture (weekly). Spot clean to remove spillage and stains on carpets. (using Host dry clean extraction method) Dust all computer screens (using lambs wool duster). Dust and clean all architectural louvers, baseboards, lighting, air diffusers and ceiling ventilation grills. Damp wipe and clean all venetian blinds (as needed) Remove all trash and replace liners.

Conference Rooms- Clean walls, doors, door frames, windowsills, ledges and wall areas. Vacuum all carpeting and rugs paying attention to corners, under desks and behind doors. Windex clean all Formica tables free of all smudges, stains and food. Clean all wall surfaces and remove all scuffs.

Restrooms - Maintenance care hourly. Thoroughly sanitize and scrub clean all toilets and urinals removing all stains and dirt. Clean, scrub, sanitize and polish all sinks and fixtures with a non-abrasive cleaner.  Clean and polish all hand soap, paper towel, toilet paper, and sanitary napkin dispensers. Clean and wash all tiled walls, walls around sink area and vertical surfaces. Thoroughly clean all mirrors and bright work. Sweep, wet mop all hard surface floors with a germicidal disinfectant and flooring. High dust and clean including moldings, door frames, door vents, ceiling ventilation grills and diffusers. Spot clean and disinfect all doors, door frames and door handles removing all finger prints and smudges. Clean and remove all smudges, fingerprints and splash marks from all stalls. Replenish all paper towel, soap and toilet paper dispensers.

Stairwells - Maintenance care daily. Disinfect, dust and wipe clean all horizontal surfaces including handrails and railings. Remove all cobwebs, Clean all fingerprints and hand smudges from door and wall surfaces. Sweep and mop/vacuum stairs and stairwells. Sweep and mop all hard surface floors.

Elevator - Maintenance care daily. Vacuum all carpeted areas. Spot clean all stains. Clean all walls and doors free of all prints and smudges. Clean all door tracks (thresholds) Clean and polish all metal brite work and keyboard. Clean ceiling, light covers and air diffuser grills

Cafeteria/Break Room/Kitchenettes/Coffee Stations - Maintenance care daily. All horizontal surfaces to be dusted and damp wiped clean. Discard all trash on tables, chairs and floors. Wipe clean all walls, splash walls and adjoining counter tops. Clean and sanitize all tabletop surfaces and chairs. Clean all chair frames (weekly) Clean all interior glass. Clean all fingerprints and hand smudges from door surfaces. Spot clean all vending machines. All trash to be removed to proper trash site. Clean all trash cans inside and out as needed. Remove all food and sanitize all refrigerators when notice is posted. Clean and sanitize all drinking fountains and water coolers. Report to maintenance any repairs, malfunctions, or damages whenever notice.

Custodian Closet - Maintenance care daily. 

Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position is an individual contributor.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
