Job Title:  Facilities Director (CISH)

Job Summary:  EMCOR Facilities Services has an opportunity for a Facilities Director in Phoenix, AZ 

The Facilities Director will  manage daily Operations and Maintenance (O&M), repair, construction, and repairs for an Outpatient orthopedic specialty program. Serve as interface between the customer and the company. Deliver exceptional site leadership, customer service, positive employee engagement, and compliance with applicable accreditation requirements, while meeting safety and quality performance requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Responsible for day-to-day onsite facilities maintenance, operations, environmental services and security management for an 80,000 sq. ft facility on a 24/7/365 basis. Responsible for the facility’s mechanical operations which includes boilers, chillers, cooling towers, tanks, motors, exhaust fans, air handlers, compressors, transformers, emergency generator, humidifiers, and water treatment systems, as well as fire suppression, and medical gas equipment and components. Direct oversight of a diverse team of technicians, environmental services , security and subcontractor support staff to perform preventive and corrective maintenance in support of client operations. Ensure grounds maintenance is routinely performed. Assists and manages construction-based activities throughout the facility and solicit quotes and execution of subcontractor support for all projects. Establish reliable and trusting relationships with the client to ensure continuity and a seamless mission of patient care. Ensure staff and subcontractors adhere to management plans and processes, including safety and quality requirements which includes creating and distributing Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) and Above Ceiling Penetration Permits in concert with the Infection Preventionist. Direct scheduling and completion of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance repairs, and project work in unison with the client and or patient operational needs as well as orchestrates contractor functions pertinent to the equipment and components requirements to meet Joint Commission standards. Leads the facility in implementing The Joint Commission (TJC) standards pertaining to Environment of Care and Life Safety requirements and continually educate staff in EOC and Life Safety requirements in collaboration with Quality Leadership and Infection Prevention initiatives. Provide immediate response to emergent calls from the client in response to critical operational needs. Review daily operational round data sheets to ensure all equipment and facility operations are available to meet the client operations. Coordinate closely with customer direct points of contact in providing formal and ad hoc reports, scheduling services, sharing program status, operational issues with corrective actions and making best practice recommendations. Ensure work is completed in compliance with contract requirements in addition to all TJC, EPA, NFPA, ODHS and ASHRAE accreditation, codes and performance standards. Resolve conflicts, identified deficiencies, and issues following reporting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective action requirements. Conduct staff training, safety briefings, and quality control inspections in pertinent Life Safety, Environment of Care, and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards for the hospital facility. Provide subcontractor and vendor management for all contractual support functions including performance reviews and necessary follow-up actions. Establishes and manages third party contractors performing work within the facility. Ensure the facility is prepared and operations are not interrupted during inclement or severe weather events to include but not limited to utility power failures. Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:  

3+ years in leading a Medical Treatment Facility and MEP experience. Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is essential. Working experience with ASHRAE, NFPA, EPA, TJC, OSHA codes and standards is preferred. Licensing or certifications in HVAC mechanical operations is preferred. Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) is preferred Completion of OSHA 30 preferred. Ability to lead and motivate staff safely and effectively. Ability to work well alone or on a team. Ability to identify facility needs while taking an active role in providing remedies that are thorough and timely solutions Exceptional interpersonal skills Effective time management Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
