The Facilities Electrical Engineering Manager at Micron is responsible for managing a team of engineers that are the subject matter experts for the electrical, instrumentation and controls, fire alarm and toxic gas monitoring systems across the entire Boise campus including the ID1 high volume manufacturing fab. The engineering team works closely with the Operations team to ensure the systems are operating as designed and within specification limits, assists in trouble shooting, drives reliability and efficiency improvements and monitors system parameters. Provides design engineering support for base build projects, system expansion, modifications, and new equipment installations by developing the statement of work, sequence of operations and basis of design. This includes providing design input and submittal review. Responsible for driving global alignment, reliability and efficiency improvements, cost reductions, capacity planning, improved automation and monitoring, regulatory compliance, cost reductions and alignment to sustainability goals.

Area Performance:

Advanced knowledge of facilities electrical, controls and fire alarm systemsEnsures the reliability of all site electrical, instrumentation and controls, fire alarm and toxic gas monitoring systemsWorks closely with customers to ensure daily operations, maintenance and foreseeable equipment failures don’t affect productionManages department financial budgeting, forecasting, and expenditures for electrical system maintenance and projectsProvides electrical design input on system changes and expansions, and supports those projects through commissioningEnsures the proper installation and startup of new equipment including commissioning for projectsMaintains knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their impact on existing systemsUses an advanced CMMS system for asset management, equipment reliability, labor tracking  and system accountingReviews trends and identifies opportunities to reduce utility usageDevelops long term strategies by monitoring mature processes and quantifying equipment “end of life” data

Education and Experience: 

Required: A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering or relevant field or equivalent education and 4 years of facilities experiencePreferred: Experience in semiconductor front end manufacturing and PE certification
