Job Overview This position will provide electrical support for Construction and/or Facility Maintenance operations at WSTF Facilities Department. This Union position is located at the NASA/White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces NM. We offer a competitive wage, pension plan, leave/health benefits, and 401K. We are looking to hire the right person in the right place! Consider joining our team. Pay Rate: $36.18 hourly, with an additional $3.26 COLA for all hours worked. Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Apply technical knowledge to solve problems that typically can be solved solely by interpreting manufacturer’s manuals or similar documents in working with equipment. Develop a work knowledge of the functions and operations of the operational equipment, systems, and controls at WSTF. Install, adjust, maintain troubleshoot all electrical items/systems including, but not limited to, control systems, fire alarm systems, power generation and distribution, UPS systems and substations with voltages ranging from 24Volts-AC/DC to 25 KV systems. Be able to work from electrical schematics and trace circuity when schematics are not available. Be familiar with NFPA National Electrical Codes and OSHA requirements. Must perform other duties as required or assigned by management. Must be able to follow basic verbal or written instructions. Must work well as an individual or as a member of a team. Must demonstrate a commitment to safety in the workplace including proper use of PPE and compliance with all safety policies and instructions. Must be able to meet certification requirements for fall protection, forklift operations, man lift operations and confined space entry, first aid and CPR. Must perform quality work in a timely manner and maintain work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe manner. Participate as required in all safety meetings, committees, and events. Job Requirements Mandatory: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Total of five (5) years’ experience. May include two (2) years of civilian or military trade school training or equivalent plus three (3) years of applicable experience for a total of five (5) years of experience. Must have a current NMAC CID Journeyman Electrician Electrical license EE98-J or equivalent from another state. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (state) and may be required to possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License for a specific task. Operation of government owned vehicles and mobile equipment is required. Meet requirements for certification, if applicable, as specified in the White Sands Training database. Must pass a physical examination as determined by the WSTF physical examinations requirements for the job classification. Must have experience in the use of electrician hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment. U.S. Citizenship.
