Facilities Engineer
Job Title: Facilities Engineer Client is unable to provide visa sponsorship now or in the future. Job Description As a Facilities Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing and managing annual maintenance and repair plans and budgets. You will oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and electrical and mechanical systems to ensure the facility remains safe, secure, and well-maintained. Your role will also include managing facility investments, reviewing construction drawings, and writing construction documents. You will conduct facility inspections, identify and address abnormalities, and analyze energy usage trends to optimize operation efficiency. Responsibilities + Establish and manage annual maintenance and repair plans and budgets. + Monitor the facility to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained. + Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and electrical and mechanical systems. + Request renovations and issue purchase orders. + Manage facility maintenance and repair performance. + Establish and manage annual investment plans and budgets. + Review facility investment techniques. + Review construction drawings and make simple modifications. + Write specifications for new constructions and prepare construction documents for public use. + Request quotations for new facilities and issue construction purchase orders. + Manage facility investment performance. + Review and repair facilities based on system requests. + Manage and revise the facility operation manual. + Conduct daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly facility inspections. + Identify causes of facility abnormalities and review the technology. + Prepare reports on abnormalities to manage historical data. + Plan to optimize operation efficiency. + Manage pipe systems (air, water supply, etc.). + Analyze energy usage trends by equipment. + Identify energy-saving potential items by equipment. + Manage monthly energy-saving performance. + Conduct and oversee operational safety inspections. + Create and manage documents required by PSM/ISO. + Take appropriate measures to improve facilities and correct non-conformities specified by PSM/ISO. + Supervise mechanical facility construction due to repairs, extensions, or production line changes. + Perform other tasks as assigned. Essential Skills + 3+ years experience in facilities/HVAC engineering roles. + Proficiency in HVAC systems, boiler systems, and electrical troubleshooting. + Root cause troubleshooting skills. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office. + Flexibility to significant travel during the initial plant start-up phase. + Willingness to work remotely and in-person at temporary facilities during initial plant start-up phase. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or a related field preferred. + Experience with utility equipment preferred. + Gas boiler, NMP-related certification preferred. + Electrical knowledge preferred. + *Consider no Bachelor’s degree if 10+ years experience. Work Environment The facility is currently in start-up mode, with ongoing heavy construction and equipment moves and installations. Flexibility with duties and shifts is required, especially as production kicks off (12 hour 3x2x2 shifts). The working environment is climate-controlled.
