Job Summary:
At Caterpillar’s East Peoria, IL facility, we manufacture and assemble Track Type Tractors. In this role as a Facilities Engineer, you will report to the Manager Facilities Engineering and will be primarily responsible for overseeing regular and simple maintenance and infrastructure support activities. You will oversee a facilities budget of approximately one million dollars. As a member of the Facilities Management team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. What you will do:
Performing or assisting in routine maintenance or construction work.
Monitoring and maintaining parts and tools inventory for infrastructure components and services.
Serving as first line of support for building service problems and work requests.
Assisting facility engineers and supporting manufacturing and other related departments.
Develop scope of work to bid projects.
Understand the bid estimation process to validate quotes from contractors.
Contract oversight of the work that is to be performed.
Manage and adhere to monthly and annual budget allocations.
Working knowledge of facility health / facility health assessments

Construction Engineering and Technology: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to the construction industry; ability to apply principles, techniques, procedures and equipment for a specific branch of engineering to the design and production of various goods and services.
Level Basic Understanding:
• Describes main technologies and tools used in engineering and technology.
• Identifies key concepts, features and methods of engineering and technology in construction.
• Identifies key issues and engineering standards re-engineering and technology.
• Cites industry examples and principles of engineering and technology.
Plant Facilities Management: Knowledge of processes, methodologies and techniques used to manage plant facilities; ability to handle the full spectrum of activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure.
Level Working Knowledge:
• Performs the installation and maintenance of such items as plant's electric, air conditioning, telephone and cabling infrastructure.
• Interprets facilities-related reports and explains record-keeping requirements.
• Works with addressing basic physical requirements of a manufacturing plant.
• Follows access and security control procedures and equipment.
• Assesses potential security or safety risks and notifies appropriate team members.
Education and Experience requirement:
Extensive years in facilities / engineering / maintenance / construction
Experience working with budgets
Top candidates will also have:
Facility certifications such as CFM / FMP / CPMM
Working knowledge of facility health and facility health assessments while putting together multi-generational planning for reinvestment on facility infrastructure
Strong background in a manufacturing facility
A strong back ground and understanding of AutoCAD

The primary location for this position is East Peoria, IL

Summary Pay Range:
$87,480.00 - $131,280.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
