In return, we'll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about. **Job Summary** The Facilities Engineer is responsible for supporting the facilities/engineering for the building utilities and equipment that supports office, laboratory, and vivarium operations; responsible for capital project efforts and supporting facilities operations. The individual in this position will also monitor facility conditions, support the site master plan associated with reliability and maintenance engineering functions. This individual is expected to be an expert in their discipline while serving as a CRL representative on advanced projects. This individual will act as an advisor to Facilities leadership and external customers on advanced technical projects. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + Provide Engineering / Project Management activities supporting the execution capital projects and support of facilities operations. + Provide oversite and voice of the customer for onsite third-party engineering support. + Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review and approve drawing packages provided by internal or external engineering support. + Prepare and review bid packages from external suppliers and A&E firms. + Assist in development and implementation Engineering department capital budget for the facility. + Work closely with local facilities departments, corporate project managers and site operations management to coordinate design efforts; compile user requirements in alignment with design guidelines, commissioning, validation, and operational delivery of small to large-scale capital projects to meet project objectives. + Assist Facilities team with engineering oversight of distribution of chilled water, steam, power, gas and other utilities. + Ensuring compliance with national and local safety codes and regulations + Work with leadership in developing site master plans; prepare maintenance and engineering plans to support master plan objectives. + Monitor the condition of the facilities through assessments and condition evaluations. + Compile and maintain information on plant facilities; establish and maintain engineering and construction standards and drawings. + Support reliability / maintenance engineering functions. + Implement and oversee site energy savings strategies to align with corporate sustainability initiatives. + Support local and corporate safety program. + Leverage engineering expertise (i.e., automation/BMS, CQV, GxP, HVAC/Electrical, LEED and maintenance) throughout the CRL Engineering network. + Other duties as assigned. **Job Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in mechanical or chemical engineering or related discipline required. + Eight to ten years related experience in managing multiple capital projects / supporting utilities equipment (central utilities) up to $25MM + Certifications: Plant Engineering and or Building trades license helpful. + An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. + Demonstrated working knowledge of LEED, Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), AAALAC, FDA/EU and government regulatory requirements and guidelines. + Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work and meet deadlines. + Demonstrated ability to assess and troubleshoot facility systems. + Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization. + Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, knowledgeable with Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Bluebeam (REVU CAD). + Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice. + Ensure project timelines and Budgets are maintained + Ability to work under specific time constraints. The pay range for this position is $115K - 135k/year.
