**Job Description**
The BAE Systems Electronic Systems (ES) is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support or Designs building facilities, equipment, and machinery. This position coordinates with building contractors and ensures building safety and adherence to applicable building codes. Perform project management for new and existing building commissioning and energy audit projects. The projects will be comprised of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems. Implement retro-commissioning and energy audits for departmental verification of equipment utilization. Manage and execute retro-commissioning and new construction projects; provide capital improvement and O&M recommendations for improvement in energy performance, comfort and indoor air quality. Manage and execute facility projects of various types and complexity. Optimize the operation of building automation systems (BAS) and coordinate commissioning activities to reduce operating expenses, improve system reliability, while meeting business needs.
+ Work closely with site leadership and Facilities leadership to develop and execute sustainability and retro-commissioning projects while implementing energy reduction plans.
+ Work closely with local project management, Facilities leadership, and contractors to accomplish system commissioning or retro-commissioning to restore or improve system performance, achieve indoor environmental compliance, and meet current business needs.
+ Suggest and implement system optimization strategies to reduce site energy consumption and carbon footprint.
+ Review and optimize all types of air handling systems, heating systems, boilers, chillers, steam absorption units, environmental chambers, hydraulic systems and vacuum pumps.
+ Maintain accurate records of facility systems, maintenance activities, and project documentation.
+ Possess technical knowledge in building systems such as fire protection, compressed gases, emergency generators, electrical distribution systems, and lighting systems.
+ Work from prints, sketches, diagrams, handbooks and manufacturer's instructions to analyze systems in order to ensure efficient operating conditions.
+ Lead the design and implementation of retro-commissioning and sustainability projects to better utilize infrastructure. Drive modifications to conserve energy, extend equipment life, and lower operating costs.
+ Work with other departments to identify and prioritize facility-related projects and allocate resources accordingly.
+ Provide consultation to control specialists, technicians and management.
+ Investigate and recommend creative strategies of the BAS and convey BAS best practices.
+ Analyze utility and expenditure trending data and recommend adjustments to the operational parameters for energy savings, functionality and reliability.
+ Excellent writing, communication skills with experience presenting to senior management plus internal and external customers.
+ May be expected to perform off shift evaluations or respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours.
+ Working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications such as Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Work Order System (Maximo), and other administrative tools.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering and three years of related technical experience, or Associate degree and five years of related technical experience, or seven years of related technical experience with no degree.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Completion of a recognized HVAC/Facilities Certification program such as IFMA CFM, BOMA or FMP required or to be completed within two-years or reasonably achievable timeframe after employment.
+ Provide project management including cost estimating, financial budgeting and oversight, project implementation, coordination, and overall management from inception through completion.
+ Proficient in open protocol Tridium Niagara BAS and a variety of other direct digital control (DDC) protocols including but not limited to: BACnet, ModBus, Lon, and PUP.
+ Secret clearance level preferred.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $56200 - $95500
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
