Salary: £55,516 - £69,395

Contract: Permanent

Location: Peterlee, County Durham

Hours: Full-Time – 36.50

Travel: Up to 10%

Job Description:

As the Facilities Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership of the Facilities Team inclusive of Engineers and employees in support and continuous improvement of the manufacturing operation at Peterlee. The Facilities Engineering Manager is responsible for all aspects of site facilities including buildings, roadways, utilities, security hardware etc. Focused on supporting service to the full site operation in meeting the business PQVC goals through maintenance and improvements to the site facilities, the individual will co-ordinate, direct & coach a team of Engineers & Technicians in planned, pro-active projects and activities within departmental budgets.

Responsibilities

Continuously improve safety culture & performance within Facilities Team and contractors managedDeliver preventative maintenance program as applicable to meet Regulatory, Corporate & Site Policy complianceDevelop and coach team to meet future requirements of the Facilities service and monitor performanceManage departmental budget & deliver continuous improvement to cost efficiency of Facilities serviceManage & implement strategy for implementation of SAP PM within department and optimise useSupport for capital equipment procurement through appropriate resourcing and technical expertiseImplement capital equipment replacement in line with predicted end of lifeSupport NPI & capacity programs through appropriate resourcing of facility movesResponsible for department performance metrics and governancePartner with Maintenance team to deliver seamless support to site and operationsFuture scope of role to potentially include responsibility for the Waste Management function as part of business continuous improvement

Top Candidates will have:

Any Engineering, Manufacturing or Management related degree or the equivalent experienceNEBOSH/IOSH qualification or evidence of safety improvements and/or has been Safety RepSix Sigma Blackbelt experienceKnowledge of PUWER/LOLER/CORGI/IEE regulations and other applicable legislation.Excellent PC, presentation and communication skillsGeneral business knowledge & budgetary managementExtensive experience demonstrating leadership by coaching, leading and developing a teamStrong experience and understanding of all areas of site operating as a production environmentExcellent communication skills both written and verbalAnalytical skills, creativity and logical thinking to reach a solution

What Skills you will have:

Plant Facilities Management:
• Works with the installation, maintenance and upkeep for a large or multiple facilities.
• Monitors environmental, safety and equipment requirements and conditions.
• Participates in the development of change, contingency and back-up or recovery plans.
• Deals effectively with customers and vendor support staff to resolve routine problems.
• Manages space planning processes and establishes requirements for staff and equipment.
• Monitors processes and procedures for developing and maintaining building security to ensure regulatory compliance.


Budgeting:
• Applies established organizational practices in budgeting.
• Under guidance, produces budget reports of planned vs. actual expenses with variances explained.
• Supplies supporting information and justification for major line items.
• Documents capital appropriations and project authorizations.
• Uses budgeting and charge-back practices within own area.

Effectiveness Measurement:
• Under guidance, reports measurement results in actionable form to management.
• Interprets and analyzes results vs. established benchmarks.
• Establishes short-range and long-range improvement goals for own function.
• Uses assigned measurements for own function or specialization.
• Under guidance, develops action plans to achieve those goals.

Problem Solving:
• Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.
• Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder.
• Develops alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information.
• Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution.
• Uses fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems
