Facilities General Laborer The Facilities General Laborer performs a variety of tasks to aid daily operations as well as various maintenance functions along the South Florida Regional Transportation Corridor.  Our railroad maintenance division, Transdev Rail, Inc, provides an integrated suite of railroad maintenance, project oversight, and construction services. This position is in Miami, FL at our VTMI contract.  Benefits include:Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeksSick days: 5 daysHolidays: 12 days; 8 standard Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability.Benefits may vary depending on location policy. The above represents the standard Corporate Policy.Key Responsibilities: Performs construction site duties, such as painting, building or repairing on-site structures, doors, frameworks, or other fixtures used in buildings, using hand and power tools. Installs and removes fencing along the corridor.Makes necessary repairs to concrete and asphalt streets and sidewalks.Performs graffiti removal from all underpasses, facilities, and assets along the railroad right-of-way.   Inspects ceiling and floor tiles, wall coverings, glass and woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.Minor maintenance repairs, including light plumbing, as directed by the Facilities Manager.Mobilize and assist with hurricane preparations and recovery.Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.Performs all other duties as assigned.Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, plus (3) years carpentry experienceValid Driver’s LicenseCommunicate clearly and conciselyAble to work independentlyHave an eye for detailSafely and effectively operate a variety of maintenance equipmentMust have a valid Florida drivers’ license.Physical Requirements:The essential functions of this position require the ability to:Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
