Facilities Liaison/Project Manager

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Facilities Liaison/Project Manager you will have the opportunity to assist USCIS meet the needs of its network strategy.  You will work cooperatively, collaboratively, and transparently with all associated organizations and other contract teams in the performance of this work. This work includes deployment in existing, new and expanding USCIS facilities.  Responsibilities include leading deployment.

Roles and Responsibilities

Network DeploymentDeploy network infrastructure and commodities in support of components, such as, but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, WAN optimizers, Uninterrupted Power, Encryptors, Power Distribution Units, wireless and mobile network kits containing multi-disciplined technologies.   Perform wireless site surveys pre and post deployment.Deploy physical access control systems.Install software, such as but not limited to: Cisco IOS/NOS, Riverbed RIOS, Big IP to ensure devices meet compliance.Assist in planning for the future strategy of networks and provide budgetary information as needed.Embrace and work towards automated and orchestrated delivery methodologies.Perform root-cause analysis, identify, and perform corrective actions.Interface with Local Exchange Carriers and telecom providers regarding installation, testing and troubleshooting during deployments.Identify, diagnose and resolve complex problems with data infrastructure as the new deployment occurs.Implement network solutions in Branch Sites of various sizes and degrees of complexity.Conduct wireless survey reports, as needed.Maintain documentation related to wired and wireless network layout.Implement Wi-Fi configurations and templates for WLAN networks.Plan, design, implement, and validate new Wi-Fi networks and wired Cisco, Meraki networks.Compute and Storage DeploymentDeploy system infrastructure and commodities in support of components, such as: physical servers, consolidated infrastructure, Hyper/converged services, virtual storage platforms, wireless and mobile network kits containing multi-disciplined technologies.   Provide SME backup and archive support to field operators and operations teams.Installation of hypervisors, Operating Systems (Linux, VMWare, Ubuntu, and Windows) in support of all infrastructure to include patching, updated releases, Firmware and BIOS updates to ensure platforms meet compliance.Install secondary software packages including security services, database services and HTTPS services as required.Support backup software utilized by USCIS.Validate through testing and stakeholder engagement to ensure delivery of Enterprise PKI / Certificates are in compliance after configuration.Utilize integrated software deployment tools to push operating systems, predefined packages and group policy enforcement.Join systems to domains and appropriate groups.Develop planning for the future strategy of server/serverless, container services, storage and platforms and provide budgetary information as needed.Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex problems with servers (including virtual), storage, platform (including PaaS) infrastructure as the new deployments occur.Implement automated and orchestrated delivery methodologies.Perform SME level incident resolution and root cause problem determination to ensure availability and stability of virtual platforms according to established service level agreements.Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot multiple virtualized environments (DevTest, Stage Production).Application stability, security, performance, and capacity management, as well as documentation of current and future configuration processes and policies.Manage and coordinate the deployment and expansion of Client Server technologies, as well as monitor, refine and research solutions to existing problems.Virtual machine troubleshooting (VM) and performance issues.Create VM deployment templates and produce automated VM deployments.Analyze performance data to provide capacity planning and resource utilization information in support of operational processes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related fieldExperience: 7 yrs

Required Experience

Seven (7) or more years of experience in project and program management including:At least five (5) years of experience managing IT projects and programs across a multi-time zone, multi-facility enterprise.PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)Working knowledge of DevOps conceptsExperience interfacing with multiple stakeholders and vendors responsible for delivering interrelated services.Security clearance level: Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust Suitability and a DHS Entry on Duty (EOD)Location: Burlington, Vermont

Desired Experience

Experience with any DHS agencies or entitiesExperience utilizing project management tools such as Service Now; MS Project and other associated MS suite products; Atlassian Suite; and CI/CD toolsFamiliarity of NIST security guidelines, such as 800-53 and 800-63, and good understanding of security fundamentals

The likely salary range for this position is $144,500 - $195,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
