Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and managing the maintenance of building facilities, utilities, and related infrastructure within the manufacturing environment. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs, managing critical systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building management systems (BMS), and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Facilities Maintenance Manager will work closely with other departments to ensure optimal functioning of the facility, supporting production needs and driving continuous improvement in maintenance operations.

What You’ll Do

Maintenance Management and Planning:

Oversee the maintenance of all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and building management systems.Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency of all facility assets.Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize disruption to production and other operations.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, shift leads, and support staff.Provide guidance, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and performance.Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Systems and Process Optimization:

Drive the implementation of systems such as BMS, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and other technologies to enhance maintenance efficiency and data-driven decision-making.Analyze maintenance data and KPIs to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.Ensure the optimization of energy consumption and sustainability practices within the facility.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and maintenance activities, implementing corrective actions where needed.Maintain a safe work environment, promoting safety protocols and ensuring staff adherence to safety guidelines.

Budget Management:

Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including parts, labor, and external service contracts.Evaluate and manage relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure quality service and cost-effectiveness.Monitor expenses against budget, identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising on quality or safety.

Project Management:

Plan and execute facilities-related projects, including renovations, upgrades, and equipment installations.Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.Manage the commissioning and handover of new systems to ensure smooth integration into ongoing operations.

Emergency Response and Troubleshooting:

Lead the response to facility emergencies, including equipment failures and utility outages, ensuring rapid resolution to minimize downtime.Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans, ensuring staff is trained to respond effectively.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and regulatory compliance.Prepare and present reports on maintenance performance, project status, and key metrics to senior management.

Skills/Experience We’re Looking For

Strong leadership and team management abilities.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.Proficiency in CMMS and other maintenance management tools.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.Knowledge of BMS, HVAC systems, and other critical facility infrastructure.
 

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience:

5+ years of facilities maintenance management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Proven track record of managing maintenance teams and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.Advanced – English / Spanish
