Facilities Maintenance Tech ($28.75/hr, + $1k hiring bonus)

Job Description

PURPOSE – Position responsibilities include performing all maintenance responsibilities; providing support to the Maintenance Supervisor/ Lead in maintaining and repairing facilities and equipment in a safe operating condition; performs preventive maintenance activities to keep the factory and equipment operating in a reliable state and minimizing downtime.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES – The following are required of the Facilities position:

Has advanced knowledge, troubleshooting skills and repair techniques of electrical circuits, and electrical systems. Has advanced knowledge, troubleshooting skills and repair techniques of mechanical and pneumatic components and systems. Performs intermediate level maintenance and repairs to all manufacturing and facility equipment and systems Knowledge and ordering of parts as necessary. Able to follow directions and work unsupervised at times. Experience with fork lift, boom lift and scissor lift operation. Follows all GMP’s and safety guidelines. Familiar with Microsoft office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Accurately fills out all required paperwork. Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and shift flexibility. Operates equipment and works safely, follows all GMP guidelines and keeps work area clean.  Participates in meetings.  Can operate simple shop equipment. (i.e., drills, saws, grinders, and sanders)  Fills in for other positions as necessary. Responsible for maintaining and repairing water treatment system, boilers, compressors, chillers, A/C units, fire/burglar systems, utility and ingredient delivery systems, buildings and grounds. Makes repairs and performs preventive maintenance on powered industrial trucks and associated equipment. Coordinates repairs with outside industrial truck repair companies when necessary. Help coordinates maintenance and repairs with outside contractors to facilities and equipment, trains and supports the contractors while on the premises, assists when necessary. Monitors radio communications & prioritizes break downs Possess own tools required to perform job duties. Insures quality and workmanship of repair. Insures maintenance areas are audit ready at all times. Purchases parts and materials and availability of same. Assists with breakdowns and start up in processing and packaging rooms when necessary. Additional responsibilities of this position include assisting in the creation of a culture of safety and health by performing work safely in accordance with all company safety procedures. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor.  Occupational safety and health performance is measured in this position Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES- 5 years’  experience in a manufacturing / production environment preferred. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have own hand tools to perform all job duties
