Facilities Maintenance Technician Location : Location US-MD-Frederick ID 2024-4667 Category Operations Type Full Time - Permanent Overview Maintenance Technicians are responsible for general repairs and maintenance on buildings, structures and equipment. Maintenance Technicians are generally tasked with day-to-day upkeep of facility equipment that provides vital resources for animal breeding.  Responsibilities Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all commercial electrical, plumbing, HVAC systemsAssist with grounds maintenanceMonitor and maintain water systems and boiler operationsPerform Preventive Maintenance of buildings and facilities, according to facility scheduleInstallation and/or modification of new and existing equipmentPotential need for hot work/weldingAssist in maintaining critical spare parts list inventoryProcess work ordersAssist in waste treatment facility operationsPerform operations according to company SOPsMaintain communication with the Maintenance Supervisor for status of work requests and facilities through the use of CAFM system.Use of Microsoft programs including Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, and specific company softwarePerform miscellaneous duties, on-call and weekend shifts as assignedOther duties as assigned Qualifications

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent qualificationCertification preferred, or minimum 2 years’ experience in commercial HVAC, and/or plumbing, mechanical, building maintenance, or a relevant fieldUnderstanding of general maintenance procedures and techniquesTow motor, skid loader, forklift certificate and/or training preferredProficient written and verbal communication skillsMust be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasksWill need to shower into barrier facilities and comply with bio-security restrictionsParticipation in immunization / occupational medical surveillance programMust be able to lift min 50lbs on a consistent basisMust be able to work overtime including weekends, holidays, and eveningsMust comply with all Health & Safety regulations and PPE per building/job requirementsMust be available for on callMust be able to work with and around animals

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.  The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
