Facilities Maintenance Technician, [FULL-TIME]

We're hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician for The Founders Club HOA in Sarasota, Florida.

They provide for the overall repair and maintenance of the entire facility and grounds under the Operations manager and Community manager. This includes conducting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, assisting with community concerns, managing contracted services; and more.

Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work on-call, as needed. This includes competitive compensation starting at $21 per hour with the ability to increase the rate after 90 days.

Responsibilities:

Assist with Managing contracts and contracted services that pertain to the maintenance of the facility and common grounds. Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair, making notes and recommendations using a pre‐established check sheet. Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools. Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.). Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks, and handles, etc.). Ensures that grounds maintenance, lights, utilities, and irrigation maintenance are performed and kept to established standards. Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, refrigerators, evaporative coolers, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.). Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, parking lots, and other work areas. Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends periodically. Maintains recreation center and courts as scheduled. Responsive communication and capability to be on-call in case of emergency or special projects.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Two or more years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Experience in facilities/ landscape maintenance preferred. Irrigation experience is highly preferred. Valid Driver’s License. Pesticide Applicators License is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and email. Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities.


Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. At times, may be required to operate a motor vehicle. Additionally, the employee regularly works in outdoor weather conditions, occasionally works in wet or humid (non-weather) conditions, and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals (with proper PPE). Finally, the noise level is moderate.
