Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician oversees the maintenance and repair tasks of the distribution center, which include equipment, carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, HVAC, plumbing, and equipment. Performs minor repairs and other tasks as assigned.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Arrange for regular maintenance for equipment and internal systemsCoordination with internal and external vendorsWorking with safety department ensuring compliance with regulationsLead and oversee the schedule for cleaning and disinfection of the building (COVID Related)Monitor activities outside the building, such as proper waste disposal and recycling.Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.Monitor and track building repairs and ad-hoc facility expensesCompare costs and benefits when evaluating new vendorsObtaining and securing the necessary approvals for maintenance/equipment needsCommunicating and forecasting regular and/or emergency building maintenance with minimal impact to the distribution cente

EDUCATION & TRAINING

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

3-5 years of work experience in a facilities/maintenance roleStrong understanding of facilities management operationsFamiliarity with building equipment and security systemsKnowledge of safety regulations

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Physical ability to handle lifting frequently in excess of 50 lbs. climbing on and under equipment, frequently and assume awkward positions.  This position requires constant standing, walking, and occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling and crouching. Good close, distance and peripheral vision as well depth perception.

EQUIPMENT
