Facilities Maintenance Technician
**Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician** **Job Description** As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and conducting preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. You will also support operational needs by monitoring equipment settings, collaborating with production teams, and assisting in the installation of new systems. Additionally, you will manage facility infrastructure, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and maintain detailed records of maintenance activities. **Responsibilities** + Perform routine and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including conveyors, pumps, motors, and other machinery. + Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and implement effective repairs. + Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. + Monitor and adjust equipment settings to optimize performance and production efficiency. + Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment-related issues quickly. + Assist in the installation, calibration, and testing of new equipment or systems. + Maintain the facility’s infrastructure, including electrical systems, plumbing, lighting, and HVAC systems. + Ensure that the facility complies with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. + Address and resolve facility-related issues that impact production processes. + Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. + Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards or areas for improvement. + Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including OSHA or other relevant standards. + Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. + Prepare reports on equipment status, maintenance needs, and incidents. + Track and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and parts. + Assist in facility improvement projects, including upgrades and installations. + Work with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements. + Respond to equipment failures and facility emergencies promptly to minimize production downtime. + Develop and implement contingency plans for critical equipment and systems. + Operate and maintain boilers, including monitoring pressure levels, water quality, and fuel supply. + Conduct regular inspections on boiler systems to ensure efficient and safe operation. + Troubleshoot and repair boiler-related issues and coordinate with external service providers if needed. + Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards for boiler operation. + Manage and maintain compressed air systems, including compressors, air dryers, and distribution lines. + Perform routine checks and maintenance to ensure the reliability and efficiency of compressed air systems. + Troubleshoot and repair issues related to compressed air equipment and ensure optimal performance. + Monitor air pressure levels and ensure that the system meets production requirements. **Essential Skills** + Experience in maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, including pumps, packaging equipment, air compressors, boilers, and HVAC units. + Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. + Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams. + Physical ability to stand/walk on concrete floors for full shift periods. + Strength and mobility to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 100 lbs. + Ability to hear speech and alarms through plant noise. + Peripheral vision and color recognition. + Stamina to walk quickly and climb step ladders while maintaining balance. + Willingness to work overtime or extended shifts as needed. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with plumbing, mechanical, painting, and general facility maintenance. + Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues. **Why Work Here?** This is a long-term opportunity in a well-lit, temperature-controlled environment.
