The Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and light maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems. This is an entry-level position and can provide opportunities for growth in the engineering field. You will join a JLL engineering team of 6 that maintains a client campus with 3 Class A office buildings in South-East Austin, TX 78741.

 

Location: South-East Austin, TX 78741
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM w/a rotating on-call schedule for after-hour emergencies

Reporting to: Chief Engineer
Type of Employment: Full-Time w/JLL employee benefits within 1 month of employment  
Additional Perks: overtime pay, on-call pay, company provided uniforms, cell phone, laptop, and reimbursement for new shoes
Estimated compensation: $21.20 to $25.00 hourly paid bi-weekly

What your day-to-day will look like: Completes special tasks that include but are not limited to; painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, and general maintenance as assigned.Performance of ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical and other installed systems, equipment, and other components.Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repair, and related grounds, and production equipment as it pertains to assigned buildings.Study and become familiar with the various items of equipment, and the methods required to use them properly, that are required in everyday activities. This to include building automation systems, fire / life safety systems, and any other building related equipment.Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.Any and other duties and tasks assigned.

 

Physical Work Requirements & ConditionsLifting up to 80 lbs.Working from heights.Frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead.Working in adverse conditions (i.e., extreme cold, extreme hot).Driving for long periods of time.Climbing a ladder with a 300 lb. weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.Climbing a ladder up to 30 feet.

 

Required experience and technical skills  High School diploma or GED equivalent; Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirableMinimum of 1+ years of relevant work experience; must have commercial industry general building preventative & corrective maintenance experienceMust possess and maintain a valid state driver’s licenseLocated in Austin, TX metro area (relocation assistance is not available for this role)Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) &/or Building Management System (BAS/BMS)Strong Customer Service & Interpersonal skillsExperience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)Strong Troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills are required
