Job Description
The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic will perform inspections, maintenance, and repair work on building systems and components. This work is performed under general supervision using the tools and techniques of various technologies, including electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing.
ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections, maintenance, and repair work on building systems and components.Utilize knowledge of basic electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing techniques, procedures, and building codes.Adhere to safety rules, procedures, and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards.Apply trades and safety knowledge in daily tasks.Safely use tools and equipment.Solve problems and manage information effectively.Communicate proficiently in written and verbal English to interact with departmental staff.Identify and avoid hazards as indicated by warning labels, signage, lights, and other warning devices.Perform work within reasonable lengths of time as measured against trade, industry, or engineered standards.Essential SkillsKnowledge of basic electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing techniques, procedures, and building codes.Knowledge of safety rules, procedures, and practices.Ability to use tools and equipment safely.Problem-solving and information management skills.Proficient written and verbal English communication skills.Ability to identify and avoid hazards.Additional Skills & Qualifications5 years of experience in facility maintenance, HVAC, building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.Experience in commercial building maintenance and painting.Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights up to 30 feet.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in shop and mechanical area environments with exposure to dust, heat, cold, noise, and fumes. Work may be performed outdoors with exposure to extreme temperatures and other weather conditions. Tasks require working in confined spaces and awkward positions, as well as at heights of up to 30 feet using ladders, lifts, and equipment. The job requires the ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, and the ability to load/unload and transport/position tools, equipment, and materials. Work shifts include 3pm-11:30pm, 11pm-7:30am, and a weekend shift of 7am-11:30pm plus 8 hours during the week.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00
