**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Facilities Management Director plans, develops, and oversees administration of the hospital's plant facilities, grounds, biomedical equipment, construction/renovation activities, security and PBX. Serves as Safety Officer, Hazardous Material and Waste Coordinator, Sustainability Coordinator and Co-Chairman of Environment of Care Committee. The Director is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with employees and customers of the medical center. The Director will also investigate and identify potential savings initiatives that will maximize financial outcomes for the hospital. The Director effectively performs the leadership, managerial, environment of care/infection control, quality improvement and departmental responsibilities.
**What you will do in this role:**
+ Perform preventative maintenance on hospital equipment according to established procedures and timetables.
+ Perform corrective maintenance, tests, and inspections on various equipment and systems.
+ Assess needs and order spare and replacement parts.
+ Maintain a working knowledge of the principles of electricity.
+ Conduct daily rounds as assigned, log equipment readings, make indicated adjustments and/or create work requests for major repairs.
+ Proactively identify and perform needed repairs to buildings and equipment.
+ Maintain Environment of Care by following the standard procedures: Life Safety, Infection Control, Universal Precautions and Security.
+ Manages departmental personnel and maintain a safe work environment
+ Review and revise, as necessary, departmental job descriptions and PMP’s.
+ Assure compliance with appropriate regulations.
+ Complete electronic work orders on a daily basis.
+ Demonstrate knowledge to access MSDS information.
+ Demonstrate the ability to operate construction tools and equipment.
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering or building construction preferred.
+ 3-5 years of experience in a hospital environment.
+ Experience on personal computers using spreadsheets and word processing required.
+ Prior leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
