Also, oversees steam cleaning activities and bus stop tech repairs. What we offer:Pay- $86,960.12 AnnuallyMedical/Dental/Vision health benefits - Kaiser Permanente and SIMNSA*401(K) retirement plans*Paid time off and holidays*Life Insurance paid by employer.Ride the MTS Bus Routes & Trolley for free, for Employee, spouse and dependent (Youths ages 6-18)Ability to advance your career.Essential DutiesSchedules employees for the department; ensures the effective supervision of mechanics and other shop workers; may administer collective bargaining agreement provisionsSelects, trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned personnelCoordinates work performed by outside vendorsOversees the development of efficient repair schedules; reviews repair cost estimatesApproves priority of maintenance and repairs based on availability of materials and parts and requirements of scheduled operationsHelps to ensure that company and client equipment is maintained and operating efficientlyControls and monitors facility inventoryEnsures that all facilities are maintained Develops and implements safety policies and procedures for the department; maintains a safe working environmentEnsures that property, grounds, and facilities are clean and well organizedManages routine facilities maintenance duties such as painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, HVAC repairs, and other related assignmentsManages routine preventative maintenance on equipmentUses tools and operate equipment needed to perform job functions; equipment includes concrete breakers, bucket truck, cranes, forklifts, etc. Assists with cleaning trucks, equipment, and grounds Assists with moving furniture and equipmentEducation, Licensing, and Certifications Required:High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, requiredEducation, Licensing, and Certifications Preferred: Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with passenger and airbrakes endorsements preferredExperience:The candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience managing a facility maintenance operation Skills and Knowledge Required:  Good written and oral communication skillsBroad understanding of all mechanical systems related to heavy duty transportation vehiclesFamiliarity with laws/regulations associated with the safe operation of maintenance facilitiesAbility to read, interpret and apply documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and other mechanical and/or electrical diagramsAbility to read and write routine reports, forms, and other documentation or correspondenceWorking knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to detailsAbility to work well with laborTravel requirement (as a percent): <5% for occasional meetings- This position will require workout of the East County (ECD) and South Bay (SBD) divisions.
