West Bay Club - Estero, Florida

Nestled in the heart of Estero Bay, near the Gulf of Mexico, West Bay Club is a member-owned gated community and private golf club encompassing nearly 900 acres - 500 of which are dedicated to conservation. The community boasts 790 residences, including estate homes, high-rise condos, and villas, all set amidst lush tropical landscaping and bordering Estero Bay and Gulf of Mexico. West Bay recently underwent a $40 million renovation of the club amenities and golf course.

Located in the picturesque surroundings of West Bay’s community the Bay House facility includes a resort-style pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, spa, culinary academy, card and meeting rooms, and the Aqua Café offering both indoor and outdoor dining. West Bay’s tennis facility offers center court viewing on all eight Har-Tru courts. Additionally, the Sports Park offers six pickleball courts, two bocce courts, and a dog park. The Golf Club is home to multiple dining venues that range from casual dining including the Niblick Grille and Signature Bar, to fine dining at the Golf House. The club offers a maximum of 300 golf memberships, 150 social memberships, and currently has a wait list. While the club remains open year-round, the peak of member activity is from November through April.

About The Position

West Bay Club is seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager. This lead position oversees the maintenance and operation of the community’s and club’s facilities, ensuring all buildings, amenities, and grounds are kept in top condition. The Facilities Manager will lead a team of 3-5 employees and work closely with other departments to deliver the highest standards of maintenance, safety, and member satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all community and club facilities, including buildings, recreational areas, amenities, and grounds. Lead, manage, and develop a team of 3-5 facilities employees, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Plan, schedule, and coordinate routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs across the property. Monitor and manage facilities-related budgets, ensuring cost-effective maintenance and operations while maintaining high-quality standards. Collaborate with department heads to support club and community events, ensuring facilities are properly prepared and maintained. Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for outsourced maintenance work and capital projects. Ensure all facilities meet safety, health, and regulatory compliance standards, addressing any issues promptly. Maintain and update records of equipment, maintenance schedules, and repair histories. Oversee seasonal and special projects, including refurbishments, renovations, and installation of new equipment or amenities. Respond to member and resident concerns regarding facilities and work towards timely and effective resolutions. Ensure all grounds, landscaping, and environmental areas are maintained to the highest standards in collaboration with the golf course and landscaping teams.

Education/Qualifications

Proven experience in facilities management, ideally within a private club, resort, or residential community. Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising a team of employees. Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance. Ability to oversee both day-to-day maintenance and long-term capital projects, with excellent project management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, management, residents, and vendors. Familiarity with safety and regulatory compliance related to facilities operations. Proficiency in using maintenance management software and basic computer skills. Physical ability to perform hands-on maintenance tasks when needed.
