Primary Purpose of the Position:

 

Drive for and audit safety, environmental and other regulatory compliances required on plant equipment and systems.

Ensure ongoing safe operations of the plant facilities equipment.  Plan, organize, coordinate & direct activities to operate & maintain all plant utilities equipment and systems. Monitor and provide feedback on plant utilities as required, with efforts to reduce consumption & costs.  Provide utility cost and consumption reports as required.  

Manage resources to ensure the proper design, installation, modification and maintainability of new and existing plant equipment, buildings and facilities. Manage, track and analyze engineering expense and capital budgeting to ensure compliance.  Writing and justifying requisitions for services and parts.

Lead the team through design and procedures to improve quliaty, cost and reliability of equipment. 

Provide technical troubleshooting assistance and lead the team through to solutions.  Obtain other assistance as required.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure safety, environmental and other regulatory compliances by working with appropriate associates on EHS issues, following the implementation of CTIs and continually improving the communication across all relevant department

Respond to day to day requirements of facilities - leading the facilities team / providing weekly and monthly reports / problem solving

Ensure maintenance of systems to ensure reliable equipment operation.  Assist in troubleshooting equipment / systems failures.  Follow up on equipment condition

Manage multidisciplinary engineering services, equipment selection & procurement, provide administrative services, program, coordination, budgeting and control of operating expenditures in support of the plant

 

Education:

BS manufacturing or engineering.

 

Experience:

10 years engineering/maintenance management in an industrial environment desired.

Experiment design experience, along with project engineering or project management role.

Experience in leading multi-disciplinary technical associates to achieve cost effective goals desired.

Experience in a union environment is desired

 

Knowledge:

Basic understanding of powerhouse operations, electrical distribution, HVAC & other related facilities equipment desired.

Strong technical background desired.

Understanding of computerized layout, spreadsheet & database management desired.

Requires a strong communication, business, analytical & planning skills.

Ability to understand plant layouts, capital estimating, associate-man computations, tire cost structure, Mfg equipment process desired
