Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Facilities Manager.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for supporting and coordinating all aspects of real estate development and facilities management functions for laboratory and research operations across the Medical Center with a focus on the off campus portfolio. In this capacity the Facilities Manager shall be responsible for managing and coordinating laboratory and research facilities and space issues across the Medical Center and supporting the coordination of research relocations and new facilities planning for research. The Facilities Manager will be the primary point person in the field for the investigators and other research tenants regarding day to day issues in the management of their space. Working in a highly collaborative and matrixed capacity, the Facilities Manager will report jointly to the Vice President Real Estate and Housing and the Senior Program Director Research.

Job Responsibilities:

Facility Operations and Maintenance: Managing day to day operations of all research facilities in multiple research facilities across the medical center including East River Science Park 180 Varick Street 341 East 25 Street and 227 East 30 Street as well as research space in the Public Health Building Bellevue and the VACreate strong lines of communication with investigators and research leadership to facilitate a collegial team approach to project implementationEnsuring coordinated systems interoperability through mutual cooperation with institutional personnel and outside vendors on specific projectsCoordinating other capital projects renovations and equipment installations with RED F project managers Coordinating project requirements for shutdowns tie ins and contractor accessProject Management: Assisting Project Managers in the implementation of complex upgrades and installations providing project management and/or technical consulting on complex projectsEnsuring improved efficiency in the use of research space within the medical center Participating in special projects and performs other duties as requiredSpace Planning and Management: Supervising laboratory research relocations including assisting and guiding staff with resolutions related to space moves Supporting the planning and development of new research facilitiesMaintaining appropriate documentation and records related to all supplies vendors contracts and project work and communicationDeveloping annual budgets for space in the research portfolio and ensures property is managed within the approved expense budgetsSupervising maintenance of facility infrastructure and mechanical equipment and ensures compliance with all regulations governing such equipmentManaging emergencies that arise with respect to the facilities of the research laboratories of the medical center Monitoring vendor maintenance responsiveness and overall performance tracking maintenance calls through work order management systemBuilding relationships with landlords in leased space and ensures appropriate support for tenant issues enforcing lease provisions and requirements as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree is required10 years relevant full time experience in facilities management real estate planning and project management in the field of healthcare life sciences or a related areaStrong planning and management experience oral and written presentation skills and highly developed communication skills are essential to success in this roleAbility to synthesize information from many sources to create articulate and implement management strategies that will improve service delivery efficiencies and alignment of goals and expectations between the RED F and the portfolio tenantsCapacity and initiative to function independently assuming ownership and responsibility for daily management and the ability to follow through on assignments without regular supervision or promptingFamiliarity with major planning and real estate development processes applicability in the healthcare arena is preferred but not essentialLeadership to drive projects and work within diverse cross functional teams to achieve common objectives and deliver resultsExceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail and accuracy with an ability to manage multiple projects prioritize work manage timelines and control project budgetsProficiency with the technology and media necessary to communicate and reach our tenants in a manner that is open accessible and clearDiscipline, maturity and composure necessary to perform professionally within a demanding environment and navigate a challenging and ever changing landscape

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $97,589.95 - $110,153.42 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
