Facilities Manager

David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to support both of our Houston offices, each over 60K sq ft.  The successful candidate must be able to manage many projects involving maintenance, repairs and improvements to both of our buildings as well as the facilities team. This position requires a team player who values delighting both internal and external customers alike! Must be well-versed in facilities management processes and exhibits high multitasking and organizational abilities.

Job Responsibilities

Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standardsMaintain equipment and building assetsOrganize and plan building projectsManage facilities departmentEstablish external relationships with both external contractors and vendorsKeep buildings and all facilities up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocolsInspect buildings structures to determine the need for repairs or renovationManage budget and financials overallPerform budget analysis and forecastingBe part of budget and project meetings and ready to present to executivesResponsible for the set up and coordination of events at both facilities
Qualifications5+ years of solid work experience in facilities maintenance and manager roleBS/BA in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant fieldWorking knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC systems and other building systemsExcellent time management & organization skills and multitasking skillsExperience planning and maintaining budgetsUnderstanding of accounting and finance principlesGreat leadership and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and customer service skillsWell-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practicesProficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; exposure to JD Edwards beneficialExcellent verbal and written communication skillsInterpersonal skills and clear verbal and written communication skills (Spanish is a plusAttention to detail and ability to deal effectively with numerous interruptions while prioritizing tasksRelevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) helpfulSelf-starter and willing to take initiativeAbility to work Monday – Friday and after hours as necessaryPhysical Demands & Environment: Work indoors and outdoors; ability to lift up to 50lbs; bend, climb and reach
