Facilities Manager Hornell, NY (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=7329+Seneca+Rd+North+Hornell+NY+USA+14843) • Facilities Job Type Full-time Description Department: Engineering Reports To: Director of Facility Operations FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt JobSummary: Provides general coordination and organization of daily Engineering Department responsibilities including but not limited to; work order dispatch with prioritization, daily communication to Hospital leadership and end users as required for operational and/or life safety deficiencies, daily DDC monitoring of critical HVAC systems, reviewing and implementing (as needed) Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) and Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRA), member of the Hospital quality rounding team, member of the EoC Committee, and reports/maintains Facilities financial status. Also, assists Director of Facility Operations with oversight to Security department staff, ensuring compliance with security protocols and protection of assets. Requirements Job Results & Essential Function + Responsible for the daily oversight of engineering staff to ensure proper organization, efficiency, and productivity. + Responsible for quantity, quality, and completion of all work performed by engineering staff. + Responsible for ensuring engineering staff are fully utilizing Facilities CMMS system to document work effort, generate repair notes and log specific time charges to all work orders. + Assists Director with document submission on all plant equipment including project submittals, drawing and nameplate information. For each piece of equipment ensure asset numbers are documented in the CMMS software system. Documentation includes equipment installation and operations manuals. + Establishes and maintains mechanic on call schedule to ensure full coverage to hospital 24/7/365. + Assigns work orders with priorities established as follows; safety, patient-care, regulatory compliance, preventative maintenance/routine tasks. + Enforce use of all applicable safety regulations as defined by OSHA, NYSDOH, Joint Commission, and all AHJ’s. + Assist mechanics in meeting critical schedules and facilitates procurement of equipment and materials. + Responsible for ensuring patient/staff/building occupant safety with a focus on making safety-driven decisions in the absence of the Safety Officer or Director of Facility Operations. + Maintains close working relationships with colleagues, affiliates, and Healthcare peers. + Supports the Director of Facility Operations with building project management, ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessments), ILSM (Interim Life Safety Measures), and warranty/punchlist execution. + Assists Director of Facility Operations with the development of departmental operating and capital budgets. + Assists Director of Facility Operations with payroll, and scheduling of staff. + Engages with quality rounding team to ensure compliance with Environment of Care and Life Safety standards on scheduled basis. + Member of the Environment of Care Committee. + Member of the Quality Rounding Team. + Assists Director of Facility Operations on mass communication for Facilities-type events impacting operations, life safety, or regulatory compliance inspections. + Assists Director of Facility Operations with oversight of Security department staff, monitoring systems (panic systems, cctv, badge access systems, etc.), ensures compliance with security personnel training and certifications, assists with security coverage and scheduling + Other duties as assigned Position Qualifications Education & Experience + Minimum Associates Degree in related field. Bachelor's degree preferred. + Minimum 5 years experience in plant operations, hospital or healthcare related preferred. + Minimum 5 years Supervisory experience. + Specific certifications preferred such as but not limited to: NYS Asbestos Operators/Supervisor License, NYS Certified Backflow Preventer License, NFPA 80 & 101 Fire Door Testing, EPA Refrigeration License, ASSE6030/ASSE6040 Medical Gas Training, OSHA 30 + Computer Skills Licenses and/or Certifications + Valid NYS Driver's License Physical Demands Stands and walks most of the day. Stoops, crouches and kneels. Occasionally climbs step-ladder. May lift and carry items of moderate weight (no more than 50 lbs.). Language Ability Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English. Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, vendors, and visitors. Math Ability + Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. + Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, rates and ratios. Reasoning Ability + Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. + Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Working Conditions Work may be performed in areas with fumes, high noise levels, hot/cold temperatures, and dirt. Hazards Potential exposure to chemicals, electrical shock, steam burns, communicable diseases and other related medical waste.
