Invitae, now part of LabCorp, is seeking a Facilities Manager to join its team in San Francisco, CA. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring the building infrastructure is maintained to operations and landlord specifications and requirements. This position will ensure all facility equipment and systems are functioning, clean, orderly, and compliant with applicable regulations. The Facilities Manager will manage the day to day operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance and repair of building equipment and regularly interact with vendors. The ideal candidate will have prior biotech, pharmaceutical or laboratory experience.
The schedule for the position will be: Monday – Friday, 8am-5:00pm

Responsibilities:
Manage the facilities maintenance of the laboratory operations site, which include janitorial, physical security and employee experienceAct as a contact for any building issues, including: climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies and repairLead and develop team of maintenance technicians, in-house and outsourced, in on-time and on-budget maintenance activities including preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance.Monitor contractor performance and work closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specificationsAssist with maintaining building security and immediately respond to building emergencies on a 24-hour basisSolicit bids and quotes from vendors for specified maintenance and repair projectsDevelop, monitor and successfully execute facility maintenance, budget. Collaborate with operations leadership on managing overall cost budgets for all parts and maintenance repair costsDevelop, deliver and maintain office space strategy and plansPerform routine equipment repair and installation of laboratory and office furniture, fixtures, and equipmentManage hazardous waste disposal per regulationsMaintain parking lots, stairwells and walkways and assist with grounds cleanup maintenance dutiesFulfill requests for ongoing and special room needs and meeting setupsVigorously support Labcorp’ s commitment to safety and support all policies and procedures as established within policy and procedure manuals in addition to Labcorp’s Safety Programs.Requirements:
Associates Degree in a Facilities related field or 4 years of active military service or minimum 7 years of commercial facilities experience in one of the building tradesMinimum 5 years of facility management experienceBachelor’s degree preferredExperience within a clinical diagnostics laboratory, biotech, pharmaceutical or life sciences industry highly preferredPrevious supervisory experience preferredExperience in the maintenance/facilities trades, formal apprenticeship or on-the job training preferredProficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)Knowledge of general facilities safety practices and proceduresKnowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning repairs and maintenanceAbility to work safely with hazardous materials, including hazardous wasteAbility to manipulate equipment up to 50 poundsAbility to work on a ladder for routine actions such as replacing light bulbs and ceiling tilesGood manual dexterity, with the ability to use hand-toolsAbility to read and understand facilities drawings, handbook formulas, and a variety of maintenance and repair related equipment, including measuring instruments such as caliper and scale**Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 per year
