Collins Aerospace has an opportunity for an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the facilities maintenance organization for the Melbourne, Florida locations. In this high-impact position, you will manage the facilities maintenance staff ensuring sites are safe, clean, well maintained, reliable, comfortable, and overall world class manufacturing facilities. You will ensure the continued service of all building systems including waste treatment, electrical power distribution, HVAC, and a wide variety of production and engineering equipment. You will also support assessment and evaluation of physical space requirements and execute plans established to meet the needs of the organization. 

You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, EH&S and business support teams to set priorities and establish spare parts needs while ensuring compliance with all organizational requirements. You will provide leadership and direction with an emphasis on team building and meeting standard work requirements. You must be able to communicate effectively, be highly organized, and display the RTX leadership behaviors.  As a growth minded forward thinker, you will ensure the entire team is customer focused and exceeding the demands of a challenging and complex manufacturing environment. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures for all equipment, systems, and buildings on the manufacturing site.  

Effectively communicate with the operations team on maintenance priorities and scheduled downtime. 

Establish work schedules while considering customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities. 

Lead facilities emergency preparedness, business continuity planning and response. 

Manage and facilitate the capital planning and project management oversight to support site operations and responsible for contractor coordination and direction. 

Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs and maintenance.  

Manage facility related parts and service contracts ensuring value, safety, governance, and accurate/planned billing.    

Drive compliance with regulatory requirements (Building and Electrical Codes, ADA, OSHA, EPA, etc.). 

Collaborate with other departments to ensure all facilities are meeting the needs of the manufacturing process.  

Plan and manage facilities budget to annual operating plan.  

Serve as approval coordinator for all Facilities related Blanket PO renewals.  

Develop and guide direct reports and subcontract staff through example, coaching, and mentoring.   

Crosstrain across all levels and disciplines to eliminate and prevent single points of failure.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE: 

Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience. 

6+ years’ experience as a Facilities and Maintenance manager in a high-tech manufacturing industry managing all trade disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:  

Deep technical knowledge of building systems, equipment, maintenance procedures and manufacturing processes. 

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.  

Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.  

Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.  

Proven ability to facilitate difficult conversations and communicate early, and concisely with individuals at all organizational levels.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
