**Position Overview**
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory operates and manages approximately 200 buildings, structures, and utility systems, totaling two million square feet of premier scientific research and experimental buildings, laboratories, clean rooms, light fabrication, office and conference room spaces, on a 426-acre site in Menlo Park, CA.
Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Operations, the Electrical Ops Manager oversees and is responsible for the development and implementation of the development of the operational maintenance plan, inclusive of management of preventative maintenance frequency, job plan specifications, and maintenance procedures. This individual may serve as a point to review and approve sequence of operational activities, regulatory requirements, and preventative/corrective maintenance scope.
**Your specific responsibilities include:**
+ Manage facilities Electrical group High & Low Voltage, potentially including other supervisors, engaged in facilities, building, and/or equipment management or maintenance.
+ Lead department/unit strategic management and participate in long-range planning.
+ Oversee the management of assigned programmatic staff (technically, operationally, and administratively), including planning and directing the activities of department(s); monitoring activities for timely completion and quality; overseeing staffing, performance evaluation, and staff management; forecasting department or division staffing needs.
+ Development and management of critical path schedules
+ Direct development of an action plan, and estimate requirements for resources, including management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project.
+ Participate in annual and multiyear project prioritization, planning, and funding; lead department/unit strategic management; may lead planning in some areas or segments; develop and review recommendations regarding short-term and long-range programs and projects,
+ Support long-range financial and programmatic planning and development.
+ Develop and review policies and procedures; interpret and manage policies and procedures for assigned area.
+ Clarify and resolve complex problems spanning multiple areas or technical fields; develop or oversee program implementation within assigned area. Implement and oversee condition assessment programs. Manage assigned projects and potentially Project Managers.
+ Manage project cost, schedule, technical scope, and risk; organize and hold readiness reviews; identify and manage project risks to navigate cost, schedule, and scope constraints.
+ Gather, organize and disseminate specifications and requirements. Integrate Environmental Safety & Health (ES&H) considerations in planning, design and construction of facilities; implement SLAC ES&H policy and best practices in construction. Oversee general contractor activities such as safety, configuration, cost and schedule control.
+ Ensure that construction conforms to SLAC policies and engineering specifications under very dynamic working conditions.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**To be successful in this position you will bring:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or other appropriate technical area, or combination of technical education, training, and experience. Five or more years of extensive relevant professional and managerial experience in an environment with a variety of building types (administrative offices, classrooms, laboratories, residential & dining facilities, auditoriums, etc.).
+ Technical knowledge of construction best practices in facilities management discipline.
+ Demonstrated experience planning, developing, and implementing programs.
+ Demonstrated experience understanding and applying relevant codes, regulations, and processes.
+ Ability to productively assemble, engage, and lead cross-functional teams. This entails the ability to coordinate with multiple project stakeholders, guide the team to successful decision-making, and lead the team to successfully meet all project goals and deadlines.
+ Demonstrated project management ability to employ integration of scope, time management, cost, quality, human resources communications, risk, and procurement components.
+ Ability to balance customer expectations with project reality.
+ Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem solving in a various situation.
+ Keen grasp of interpersonal and impact awareness.
+ Depth of knowledge in technical discipline/domain needed to deliver projects. Thorough knowledge of industry best practices in design and construction.
+ Must demonstrate strongest commitment to construction safety, including construction safety knowledge, field experience, and commitment to proactive safety planning and compliance.
+ Must be a team-player, willing and able to work in a highly collaborative organization, striving to continuously improve delivery of design and construction through continuous process improvement.
+ Must be a team-leader, with a passion for doing it right the first time, able to influence project partners to collaboratively and safely deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget.
**In addition, preferred requirements include:**
+ Electrical background
+ Project leadership experience with construction projects.
+ Working knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, and collaborative project-management software.
+ Experience with design and/or construction of electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems
+ Experience with design and/or construction of specialized laboratories, clean rooms, MEP utilities and building systems, and experimental science facilities.
+ Coordinating with and supporting various project stakeholders in a matrix organization
+ Successfully commissioning highly technical electrical and mechanical systems.
+ Experience in managing technical facilities construction projects.
**Certifications and Licenses:**
Certification and/or license in the following strongly preferred
+ Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP)
+ 10+ Years Electrical background
+ C10 License CA state certification.
+ California General Electrician
+ IBEW Certified
+ Builders and Contractor State Certification.

The expected pay range for this position is $142,000 - $194,000. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
