Job Title: Senior Facilities Plant Technician Job Description The Senior Facilities Plant Technician is a skilled position responsible for the operation, maintenance, and servicing of boilers, feed water systems, steam hot water systems, pump delivery systems, sterilizers, and all related auxiliary equipment. Your duties will include daily operation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of Central Plant Systems (CPS) including steam boilers and piping, compressed air and vacuum systems, gas piping and plumbing systems, as well as associated building equipment. You will be required to record all systems information data, provide oversight of Steam Sterilizer equipment, systems, and contracted vendors, and assist with general building maintenance and repairs at all facility locations. All work must be performed according to established operating and safety procedures. Responsibilities + Maintain boilers and CPS systems to ensure equipment operates to required specifications and safely, including performing preventive maintenance on all CPS, boilers, hot water heaters, feed water systems, pumps, air compressors, and associated building equipment. + Diagnose problems and/or failures in plumbing, heating, and cooling systems, including skilled pipe and steam fitting duties, and perform repairs, adjustments, maintenance, and installation of these systems. + Facilitate work orders with service vendors to ensure systems operate as designed, when needed. + Manage and oversee Steam Sterilizer vendor for repairs, maintenance, and operation of equipment. + Identify, troubleshoot, and make accurate and necessary repairs/adjustments within the facilities mechanical systems. + Perform maintenance and repair of up to 5 lbs. gas piping systems and associated equipment. + Perform backflow testing and repair of all Drainage Fixture Unit (DFU) devices at all locations. Essential Skills + Experience with boiler systems, troubleshooting, and repair. + Knowledge of stationary engineering, boiler operation, and control systems. + Proficiency with steam equipment and control systems. + Electrical, plumbing, and mechanical skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience maintaining boilers, hot water heaters, feed water systems, air compressors, and pumps. + Experience with heating and cooling systems. + Availability for overtime and on-call as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/hr.
