Facilities Project Manager:

Roles and Responsibilities
As a highly motivated self-starter, you will provide leadership in the development & execution of multiple construction projects that support research at the GE Aerospace Research site. As a Project Manager - Facilities you will be responsible for estimating, scheduling, and completing Projects that will comply with all building codes and OSHA requirements. You will work with a diverse team including Research Staff, Facilities Management, Facilities Engineers, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Security, Digital Technology and Consultants to develop a project scope and design. You will lead a team to develop cost estimates, bid drawings and specifications, materials list, estimated man-hours and construction schedules. You will work with a unionized work force to secure materials and schedule trades to complete tasks. You will be responsible for the overall safety & compliance within your construction team.
The Project Manager, Facilities – Aerospace Research will:
Prioritize workload, establish and meet aggressive timelines for project completion.Be responsible for setting clear expectations for the team and driving accountability.Provide customers with regular communications including progress updates and issue resolution.Manage a team of hourly employees to meet EHS, quality and productivity goals.Coordinate communications between EHS, engineering, and customers to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal codes and requirements.Coordinate all matters regarding administration of hourly union contract including but not limited to work assignments, attendance, personnel matters, grievance resolution, contract interpretation, etc.Schedule and conduct required safety meetings.Exemplify and champion the GE Purpose and GE Leadership Behaviors – Act with Humility, Lead with Transparency, and Deliver with Focus.Embrace and drive a lean culture, leveraging kaizen processes to drive continuous improvement inclusive of the skills and capabilities of the team.Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to improve customer service by delivering cost effective solutions to meet client expectations.Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, construction or engineering field with minimum 5 years of experience in design and construction, including proven ability to scope, estimate and oversee the construction of projects.OR
Associate degree in a technical, construction or engineering field with 7 years of experience in construction, operations, or maintenance.
OR
High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of prior experience in construction, operations, or maintenance.

Serve as Process Safety Management(PSM) subject matter expert to facility and support business teamDevelop PSM based enhancements and controls to site EHS programs and process designsLead the team in the management of site PSM programWork with GE Aerospace Research ATMS team members to assess and control occupational exposure riskConduct EHS focused inspections and audits to ensure regulatory complianceFacilitate EHS trainingConduct learning teams in response to safety events and conduct/validate incident investigations to determine root cause and proactive solutions to prevent event recurrenceDrive closure of corrective actions based on root-cause investigationsCoordinate EHS plans with consultants and contractors during onsite activitiesPerform multimedia safety inspections and compliance audits and revalidates EHS operating system scorecardsDevelop and maintain EHS programs and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulationsAssist Aerospace teams with Life Safety inspections, planning, and system impairment activities.Provide technical expertise during EHS events to ensure the safety of site personnel and site infrastructure.Provide technical expertise to support high risk operation risk assessment, work permit planning, and work execution.Assist Aerospace team members with chemical management activities (incl. creating and maintaining chemical inventories, SDS management, training) and hazardous waste handling operations (incl. labeling, classification, disposal, and waste manifesting)Provide input to Aerospace Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team.Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.Other responsibilities as assigned.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health Science, or other related discipline from an accredited university or college5-10 years progressive EHS experience including management of a PSM program and overseeing a PSM regulated operationDemonstrated technical expertise in managing EHS risks associated with Ergonomics, Electrical Safety, Control of Hazardous Energy programs, Safety Risk Assessments and Safe Operating Procedures, Management of Change, High Risk Operations, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental programs (air, stormwater, wastewater, waste), Training, Emergency Preparedness and Fire Protection, and Chemical ManagementLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on November 13th, 2024.
