Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience. Location: This position is located in INDOT’s Greenfield Distrcit. A Day in the Life: The essential elements of the job duties: + Complies with INDOT Safety Policies and Procedures + Moves and loads supplies and materials, including usage of tire disposal machine + Winter operations duties including snow and ice removal + Performs equipment maintenance such as: minor repairs, preventative maintenance, filling, and preventative maintenance inspections + Performs miscellaneous labor tasks + Assists with implementation/improvement of Maintenance programs, procedures, and project planning + Assists in ensuring that the facilities and grounds are in a constant state of survey readiness from a maintenance perspective + Initiates repair parts order request and recommends items for inventory stock and monitors’ use + Assists in repairs to various facilities motors, panels, transformers, lighting systems, brine makers, lift stations, concrete patching/repairing, etc. + May perform basic construction inspection duties, as needed The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. What You'll Need for Success: You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment: + High school diploma or equivalent; + Must possess valid Driver’s license; + Skill in the operation of equipment and forklift; + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of stock or equipment repeatedly. + Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing and walking for long periods of time. + Must have ability to read, write, and communicate clearly. + Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team. + Ability to rotate shifts, when necessary. Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports: This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
