About the Position: About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain half way between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off of Interstate 20. The depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees. Responsibilities Performs a variety of technical duties in estimating work assigned. Estimates work for maintenance, repair, modification, and installation of machinery and manufacturing equipment. Serve as Contractor Officer's Representative and technical advisor on assigned projects. Conduct site visits to verify work is being done in accordance with technical requirements or scope of work and designs/sketches. Perform equipment inspection, plans, and estimates for the installation. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: facilities management, and long-range planning; applying construction techniques to estimate, monitor, and coordinate projects; conducting on-site visits to evaluate progress. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Successfully completed a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR Combination of Education & Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Contract Management/Support Facilities Operations Management Inspection, Test, and Measurement Techniques Practices, Procedures, Responsibilities, and Functions of Contractors Program/Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One-year probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a(n) (CP) 17- Material Maintenance Management Position. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
