Job Title: Facilities Specialist
Job Description

The Facilities Specialist will use their knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, construction, and electrical work to maintain a functional building for employees. Their job is to work closely with others to respond to maintenance requests throughout the facility.

ResponsibilitiesPerforming quality checks on HVAC, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systemsChecking and responding to security and safety issuesTesting and recommending new maintenance productsCoordinating activities with vendors and suppliersExecuting minor repairs (fixing flooring, drywall, plaster, and painting)Keeping documents of inspections and problemsMaintaining an inventory of cleaning and repair suppliesEssential SkillsExperience with HVAC systems and vendor management (ideally 10 years)Facilities maintenance expertiseAdditional Skills & QualificationsComputer experience with spreadsheets and inventory softwareConstruction skills (e.g., carpentry, painting, plumbing)Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issuesAdministrative skills for ordering supplies, handling records, and scheduling maintenancePhysical strength and dexterity to lift, move, and handle equipmentStamina to deal with long hours standing or walkingStrong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issuesOrganizational and time management skillsWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

The Facilities Specialist will work with a team of scientists but will often operate independently. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional on-call duties.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Redwood City, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
