Job Summary and Description:

The Facilities O&M Electrical Supervisor at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for managing and developing technicians that are responsible to service, maintain, troubleshoot, modify and repair components and equipment for facilities electrical systems for the entire site. 

Supervisors are responsible for providing a safe, compliant, and ethical work environment by maintaining current technical knowledge, monitoring for compliance, and actively resolving potential issues.  Supervisors are responsible for overseeing and improving area performance by managing staffing, distributing and prioritizing work, and ensuring communication and training completion on safety, legal, and work requirements. They conduct performance appraisals with team members to create goals and development plans that enhances the team members skills and abilities. Other responsibilities include promoting collaboration by supporting, leading, and participating in department and area improvement projects.  Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

 

Safety & Quality:

Ensures the team completes of all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policiesStops work for safety if unsafe conditions and/or behaviors are identifiedUtilizes and reviews job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performed in their areaEnsures the team follows all safety and environmental procedures in compliance with applicable regulations including PPE, CoHE (lockout /tagout) and chemical safetyFollows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with stakeholdersActively participates in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems immediately (maximum 24 hours)Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catchesEnsures team always wears appropriate PPE, per JHA, manager, EHS professionals, and/or job designationProactively identifies opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel health and/or the environment.Ensures the use of proper lifting techniques and work is performed in an ergonomically correct mannerFollows proper change management practices to ensure safety and quality expectations are metDrives quality improvement initiatives in their area to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and identify cost savingsEnsures the operation and maintenance of equipment and tools are within manufacturer’s and company guidelines to drive safety and quality expectationsEnsures area-specific procedures, documentation, training and certifications are accurate and updated in a timely manner

Provides team with consistent communication on priorities, goals, performance metrics, company updates, and department expectations to ensure understanding and line of sightMeets face to face with their team and other stakeholders regularly to gather input and build rapportCollaborates with key stakeholders to resolve equipment/process issues, maximize system stability, and drive improvementsAttends and participates in meetings and provides inputPromotes collaboration and team building across groups and/or shiftsEnsures pass down is accurate and reflects the current work statusProactively communicates issues that could cause manufacturing or customer impactCommunicates proactively with leaders and stakeholders on the daily priorities and issues

     Area/Technical Performance:

Maintains applicable discipline and technical knowledge to make informed decisions and drive area improvementsEnsures team maintains required certifications and training to perform area tasksEnsures team completes assigned PMs and work orders in a timely and thorough mannerEnsures team maintains equipment and tools in working orderEnsures accurate records are maintained on testing and calibrations of equipmentAssists with installation, modification, maintenance and/or removal of facilities equipmentDevelops procedures and training to ensure team performs the work safely, correctly and consistently.Accountable for the area/shift performance and drives team accountabilityMonitors equipment and area performance to resolve issues and maximize area stabilityEnsures team identifies and reduces equipment defects to improve qualityUses a systematic problem-solving technique to resolve issues in a timely mannerEnsures team identifies and resolves chronic equipment alarm issuesIdentifies and leads projects to improve area and equipment performanceAssigns team members new assignmentsLeads shift/area cost reduction activitiesDrives a culture of Safety and Quality including TPM, Facilities Disciplines, PM procedures and certifications

       Project Management/Planning:

Supports or manages area projects to ensure deliverables are completed within required scope and scheduleParticipates or leads project meetings and completes assigned actionsPartners with leader to prioritize project action itemsTracks actions and provides escalation path to ensure actions will be completed on timeFollows proper business processes for maintaining, installing, modifying, or removing facilities equipment

       Successful Candidates must have the following Qualifications:

Demonstrated success in utilizing area processes and equipment knowledge to make informed decisionsIntermediate knowledge of MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointDemonstrated success in motivating and maintaining morale of a teamDemonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills Proven time management, organization, and prioritization skillsDemonstrated ability to identify, drive, and complete area improvement projectsProven ability to multi-task in a high-paced environmentDemonstrated understanding of performance management conceptsStrong partnering and teamwork skillsDemonstrated critical thinking skillsDemonstrated ability to continuously learn and self-improveDemonstrated knowledge of electrical application for high and low voltage systems and electrical code

  Education and Experience:

Required: Valid Journeyman Electrical licensePreferred: Five years of experience in commercial and/or industrial installations
