Pate Rehabilitation

Overview

Experienced Cook for small inpatient rehabilitation facility.  Must be dependable, reliable and have good organizational and time management skills. Duties include, but are not limited to: prepare & serve lunch, order groceries for the week, inventory & assist ordering supplies, clean & deep clean kitchen and dining area, keep kitchen in compliance and some days provide some prep for the evening meal.

 

This is a Monday through Friday 9:30a to 3:30p position.

 

Bilingual preferred but not required.

Responsibilities Ensures food preparation is in accordance with planned menus and in sufficient quantitiesEnsures food is properly stored and the proper temperature is maintained in hot and cold food itemsInspects work areas daily to ensure they are kept well organized and clean including store room, refrigerators, freezers, service areas and dining roomsEnsures food is handled in a sanitary manner, including receipt, preparation, and storage, including checking food temperature log daily to ensure appropriate temperature is maintained and logged in accordance with health regulationsCheck equipment daily to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation techniques are followedNotify the Food Service Supervisor and issue work orders for repairs or replacement when necessaryAssist Supervisor with ordering, stocking, and inventory as neededAs needed, wash dishes, sweep and mop floors, remove trash, clean and sanitize tables and service areasOther duties as assigned

 

Qualifications Three to six months related experience and/or training; must be able to make quantitative calculations using both fractional and decimal measure units. Supervisory experience preferredHigh School Diploma requiredOne year in Culinary Arts or related field from a college or technical school and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferredValid State Driver’s License; County Sanitation Certification
