Position Summary Under general supervision, perform a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks and duties in support of the project office. This position is required to perform basic repairs including sheetrock, plaster, flooring, acoustical ceiling tiles, cabinetry, etc. using power and hand tools to resolve, patch or replace parts, components, and/or systems within building facilities.
The position is required to read and understand floor plans and construction documents necessary to construct or erect small to moderately complex project managers and/or supervisor. Minimum Qualifications

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY; OR DEMONSTRATED POSSESSION OF THE COMPETENCIES NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE WORK. OPTIONAL GUIDELINES: EXPERIENCE IN THE TRADE AREAS RELATED TO THE AREA OF ASSIGNMENT MAY BE SUBSTITUTED ON A YEAR-FOR-YEAR BASIS.

Has the ability to perform basic computer skills in order to process and communicate through the work order system or email various issues and deficiency noted. Technician should have working experience with smartphones and/or tablets. Assist as required and cooperate with all staff, faculty, tradespeople, and custodians in the performance of day today duties and responsibilities. Key Responsibility Provide customer service to student and staff Essential Tasks Respond to various work orders involving wall, ceiling, and flooring repair and paint requests as needed; a working knowledge of general building facilities systems is required including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and carpentry. Occasional overtime is required based on the departmental needs – during the summer months (May-Aug). Has the knowledge and ability to read and understand construction plans and documents to layout walls, ceilings, flooring, cabinetry, etc. Has a working knowledge of floor plans and simple to moderate construction plans and can proceed forward with them under little to no direction.
