GFL Environmental is looking for a full time Facility Operator, to help support our operations in Hamilton, ON. The Facility Operator will be responsible to report to the Operations Supervisor. Also be responsible for performing daily operations such as complete production reports and paperwork, and bulk and consolidate household hazardous waste (i.e. paint, stain, solvents, cleaners and aerosols) manually or by machine.

 

Key Responsibilities:Bulk and consolidate household hazardous waste (i.e. paint, stain, solvents, cleaners and aerosols) manually or by machinePerform physical labour by lifting containers up to 20L in sizeComplete production reports and paperworkParticipate in company supplied trainingWork independently or as part of a team to achieve daily production goalsWork safely at all timesWork indoors and outdoors in all weather conditionsOther duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies:

High School DiplomaForklift License is an assetPrevious experience handling chemicals is an assetPrevious experience in an industrial setting is an assetMust be able to read and identify labels on containers of waste to determine hazard characteristicsMust be able to write in a clear and legible mannerMust have access to reliable transportation to get to and from work on a daily basis. The facility is located on a bus routeMust possess good verbal communication skillsMust be legally eligible to work in Canada
